Xabi Alonso and/or Bayer at CFA

If we are going to go with one of these recent player turned managers, I’d rather have Vinnie. Wasn’t sure about him as a coach and didn’t want him to tarnish his legacy, but I’ve flipped since I saw the madness he’s doing tactically at Bayern.

Playing with 2 centre halves and everyone else up front most games.
You do not go from Pep to someone who in the premier league relegated a team. That’s appointments the rags make - Solskjaer.

Radical.

I'd be surprised if he brought his whole coaching team with him to do his badges.

According to ‘Craig party time’ an ITK on LB’s channel.
Alonso is at City to complete some of his UEFA coaching badges and discuss transfers.
Namely Ortega and McAtee.
Just passing it on.
I’m not sure how often he gets stuff right, though most recently he spoke about Pep’s split from his wife a few weeks before it became public knowledge.

That's nonsense mate.

To manage in the Champions League you have to have UEFA's highest degree of license, which is the PRO license. There isn't any more badges to do after that.

If he was here for signings, why isn't the Leverkusen director of football here?

Coaches visit other clubs all the time, really no surprise if one of peps former players who is now a coach himself wants to visit the best manager in the world to take what he can from him. It's nothing more than exactly what it looks like.

If there was the remotest chance he was replacing Pep, they would not be meeting at the campus.

Not sure why you suddenly think now it wouldn't tarnish his legacy?

As for the 2 centre halves thing. You can do that in a piss poor Bundesliga which btw he could still lose to Bayer.

Well beaten tactically from what I saw last night with Inter.

I’m a kfa.

Maybe pg has had a change of mind ,decided to leave & made up with his mrs .
Or maybe Alonso is just taking in the training campus with his coaches

Is this why Txiki is staying on longer? To hand over?

I'd be devastated.

On the other hand I can't see a situation where the whole coaching squad come over whilst there's a manager already in charge. That would be weird.

Although if you have a pro license and managing a side in the champions league then there's very few people/places who you could discuss cpd with ;-)

Is this even true? We’ve already got a dozen pages on heresay. Have there been any photos or owt?

hope he has arrived to negotiate Wirtz transfer. haha
That’d make some sense.
Maybe a swap deal plus cash.
McAtee for instance.
I know it’s not usually a managers job but considering Pep and Alonso’s good relationship it could be plausible.
A business trip, see how we run things and a catchup all rolled in to one.
If he were here to replace Pep it’d be done away from public view, so doubt it’s that.
All speculation on my part obviously.

With all his coaching team?

If this is true, I can only think that he and his team are taking a look around their future place of employment. It would not surprise me, and I don't think too many foresee Pep remaining for the 2025/2026 season.
