Going to Bayern Munich for around 9 million euros according to reputable reports in Germany and Switzerland. Bargain. Shame we haven't moved for him because at that price there's virtually no risk for a top young talent.

If we had made a bid, they would have asked for 2-3 times that price in 'City tax'.
An absolute bargain for Bayern, though. Great prospect and has a bit of toughness about him along with his undoubted ability, which would make him a big hit in England

Hoping for this now. :P

Off to join the Patito to City bandwagon.

We've had the chance to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cerci, and Shaqiri, all highly rated wingers, for good prices, but have passed on them all. I wonder if Redmond will be the next one to pass us by and become a Premier League star. I feel we do need one winger or semi-winger (wide forward) unless the club plans to bring back Weiss which seems a bit unlikely now.

I'm beginning to get the impression it's not that important to Roberto. I imagine that the only way we'll see another winger come in is if AJ goes out in the summer, which right now seems unlikely. Chamberlain does look a top player. As does Shaqiri and as you say he hasn't moved for either of them. Does seems a real shame when you see the prices for both players.

I will be gutted if Iturbe went under the radar of Mancini also.

Does he have a twin too? At least the song choices would be easy that way......

One Patito, Two Patito...

The way he displaces defender, you'd think there were 2 of him :)

Could be we feel we have Hazard wrapped up. Willian to Chelsea and Arsenal not making the CL next year could make us the only game in town.

Deal done. Fucking bargain for Bayern.

How has he gone for such a low fee?

You can't help thnking we would have had to pay at least double that price.....

Would Erikson at Ajax be an equal option?

It's a realistic price for a relatively unproven player, no matter how talented he seems to be. Similar to what we paid for AJ, except AJ only had six months left on his contract and was English.

Erikson's a very different player. He's a playmaker in the Silva/Nasri mould. Shaq is a wide forward/winger who's strong and has electric pace.

A lot of reasons.

First - the Swiss is a country with 3 languages. In the German part they watch German television a lot. Basel is directly on the border to Germany. There is a lot people that e.g. live in the Swiss and work in Germany - or the other way around. The next Bundesliga club Freiburg is just 70 km away. Munich is 350 km away.

So - being a football enthusiastic Shaq certainly grew up with the Bundesliga.

His Ex-coach, his current coach and the coach of the national team all have had long and great times at Bayern. The bosses of both clubs know each other very well - the FCB of the Swiss are in the same position as the FCB of Germany - they are just smaller.

There is no language barrier, he can keep a good connection to his friends and family...

A lot reasons why he goes to Germany - and actually, everybody thought that he somewhen will make exactly that move - Munich is interested since some time and it just was a question when this will be.

So who's leaving? Rubbery or Robin?

Non. Euro 2012 is coming. And a lot players might need some breaks next autumn. And Bayern only has 20 field players from which at least four will leave in summer - Olic and players that only played at Manchester... And e.g. right now it is getting very tight with van Buyten, Schweinsteiger, Contento out - Usami and probably Petersen not having enough class...

You answered why he went to Bayern, but the question was how can they get him for this price ?
Very cheap, he worth at least double the agreed price.
