Guys just been made aware of this - be careful not to get caught

Can you circulate this around especially as Xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number).

DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize .

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655.

For more information, see the Crime Stoppers website:

I'm fed up of getting this sort of shit in my inbox, on Facebook, Twitter, text, etc. from people who see something like this and assume it's true, then pass it on to everyone they've ever met.

READ. THE. FUCKING. LINK. The one that you yourself have posted. Which bit of "This is a hoax" do you not understand?

If that gives you satisfaction abusing someone acting in good faith then whooppee for you.

No I didn't read the link but just hope you never find yourself conned by a scam which people didn't bother to alert you to .

One nil to you - well done hope you feel good - ffs!
I was careful not to abuse you personally and probably went a bit OTT (for which I apologise) but you can't begin to appreciate how many of these I get from people who think they're doing the right thing. A simple rule is that if you get anything like this that ends something like "Please pass this on to everyone you know" it's 99.99% a pile of crap.

Anyway I can afford £315 as I'm due $24m from the estate of my long-lost, deceased relative in Nigeria any day now.

Ok lol no probs - best forgotten - posted in good faith tho!

don't get it what's the big frustration here? this WAS a valid scam.. and people knowing that a scam like that can be pulled off will potentially put you out of harm's way.

yes it's a fraud, but it's no longer around http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/investigation ... -0906.html still have to be careful whenever you are asked to call somewhere because it may be a premium number. So it's good to know that such scams even exist
