Yaya-Keep or Sell?

What will happen if city say you can go on a free his agent then would probably come out with he is dew a loyalty Bonus plus saying his player didn't ask to leave.

Knowing our negotiating skills, he'll go on loan to Inter for the remainder of his contract with us paying all his wages.

Haha. With the Italian clubs being tight arses and taking the piss thats what they'd want!

If you think about it and I reckon his agent wants more than just letting him go on a free, thats yaya and us writing of paying his 12 month 10m+ wages you really think Inter would want to subsidise that amount?

Ahem! Mr Toure is part of our 'istory. I don't want to be labelled as an 'ITK' but let us just remember how great he's been for us over the past few years :-)

It looks like he is going to stay now. :( which means definitely no 2nd midfielder :(; Bummer!

I haven't read the entire thread, but one crazy idea where we don't sell, and now that Laporte is not happening, could be to convert him back to becoming a defender. He won't have to run around as much as he once did/rely on pace if he can position himself well enough (although that didn't seem to work enough for MDM this season), and would provide us with an incredibly skilled passer, who won't give the ball away, as well as can use his world class vision to be our own version of Bonucci, arguably even better.

His lack of work rate or perhaps interest in defending when as a midfielder anymore would cause concern, as would how little he heads the ball for someone of his size. Besides a million other reasons this would make some go mental, it would be quite interesting to see.

You are right. It is a crazy idea.

I have loved what Yaya has done for us during the past five years and he will always be known as one of the players who took us to another level. I do however, get fed up with him and his agent using the media to force the hand of the club. The latest sees him threatening to see out the final year of his contract, that is just a ploy to get the club to release him on a free. I really can't see him having a role in the new system and that has nothing to do with age more about his mobility or should I say the decline in his mobility - We move on.

I'd rather him leave of course but there's a side of me that wouldn't mind seeing him stay.

It's fun rooting for the guy that everyone is angry with. Everyone is expecting him to have a repeat of last year so there isn't really anywhere to go but up.

I'd like to find out what he's made of. Maybe he comes in motivated, works on his fitness, and plays with a chip on his shoulder. I'm not so sure he will but I'm going to take the optimistic view here until he proves me wrong.

Has nobody suggested playing him in goal yet?
Yes, a couple of weeks ago. Now that a keeper being able to pass is more important than being able to stop shots going in the net, someone suggested we put Silva in goals next season. Someone else said it should be Yaya because he's taller. I'm not sure why being tall is relevant to passing ability.

So he can see over the heads of the defenders and pass between the lines, simple init...

If he's threatening to see out his contract, it's an empty threat.
He'll get hardly any game time which will leave him out of the headlines, which in turn lowers his profile.
City need to play hardball with him and his slug of an agent. Set out the conditions of his departure and tell them not to even bother speaking to the club unless it's what we want.
