Yaya says Pep "does not like African players" - Pep says "he's lying and knows it"

I am a Guardian reader but today left me a bit cross with them. The hard copy edition included a long article on Toure, starting on the back page continued inside, which was nothing more than reporting what Toure had said. I expect more from my paper.

Political correctness dictates that in any situation you identify the biggest victim and ignore logic, decency and common sense and put all your support behind the 'victim'.

It must be obvious, even to the Guardian, that Yaya (the black man) is wrong and Pep (the white man) is being unfairly traduced.

So the dilemma for 'your paper' is that if it draws attention to the fact that Yaya is a knobhead who is attempting to destroy the reputation of an innocent man, it could be regarded as racist.

Hope this helps (and yes, I do read the Telegraph and the Times).

Spot on.

I'm happy to be wrong here, but I thought it was removed and presented to him after the last home game?
He was given a copy.
The original is still there. Still a perfect model for academy students.
i.e. This is what happens if you do well AND then don't pull your weight later on.

Told you all he is a grade A cnut. Legend my arse.

His ego was even bigger than his arse.

Muslim fraud done for being twice over the limit.

Feel sorry for Pep, he retained him out of pity and respect for our club.

Something that twat Toure has never had.

I'm in complete agreement with you and the reason why I left the stadium before his presentation.

I think the club should remove the mosaic that was put up recently and rescind his lifetime season card. He and his moronic agent have further tarnished his time at the club and whilst nobody can dispute what he did for the club in his first few seasons and the huge role he played in winning us titles his ramblings over the past two / three years have lost him all plus points he had built up (was going to say brownie points) but someone would call me racist. To say he is a club legend in the same breath as Zaba is shameful - what a cnut

I doubt Pep has a problem with African players, more an issue with players who stand in the centre circle for 7 or 8 minutes at a time without moving.
He doesn't seem to have any issues with Raz, Leroy, Vinnie, Ferny, Fab or any of the other black players so it's nothing to do with racism.
Disappointed with Yaya

Yaya did say African not black. I think this was more of a trust thing than a racist thing. There have been many Africans in the league who dont quite have the same work ethic. For every work horse like Drogba and Essien you could easily have 3 or 4 lazy ones like Mido, Adebayor, Diouf and Djemba Djemba.

Someone like Chadli or Kyle Walker could have said that about Poch at the end of their Spurs careers but they lacked that intensity at the end, they arent low enough to play a race card, it's just a footballing decision. Pep probably didnt trust Yaya further up the pitch or even on it at all

I think most neutral supporters will see Yaya’s ramblings for what they are, total nonsense.
