Yaya Toure apologises

I'd be more than happy for him to join Liverpool. He'd have the same impact as Mario did.

completely agree... if there is one team i would not want him to go to, it is Liverpool; he will be surrounded by runners that will cover for his deficiencies and have him dictate the football... it will be trouble for every one... i am sure the club knows this and will not let him join just anyone...

this haunts me as well.

he could do the Pirlo, very easily.

However Klopp doesnt seem to utilize such a player in his systems.

what if Yaya apologises? is there a road back .

Any manager hiring Yaya right now is taking a lot of risk, he might not be bigger than City, but he could certainly upset the apple cart where ever else he goes.

Haunts you, get a grip.

Why will yaya ghost past our defence

Sorry, but one last food for thought. Just quoting but a lot of sense in this:
When did Yaya become responsible for something his agent said? As far as I remember, the agent was giving his personal opinion not speaking on behalf of Yaya.
Yaya should speak to his lawyers about suing Man City for constructive dismissal. He is being denied the chance to practise his trade because of an issue which he is not responsible for.

If you think that City are not fully aware of their legal position with respect to what they can, and cannot, do with players contracts you are at best nieve

Pep picks the team. The agent does not pick the team. The agent should keep quiet. He is a clown. If he won't keep quiet he should be ignored. Jon stakes is a clown too.

Dont think any PL team would take YaYa at this point unless he decided to take a rediculously low offer in spite for vengeance
against our club
And frankly I'd like to see him in the dippers midfield.... They would be less of a team as they are right now
It makes more sense to me he would take the biggest offer which would more than likely put him in China
I wonder how much Seluk drivel a Chinese team would put up with?
The options for YaYa seem to be narrowing by the minute
and it's a damn shame
completely brought on himself
but a damn shame

Has been the reason why we have most if not all of all of ``our titles`` sad for him to leave in such bad circumstances in fairness should have departed two seasons ago and when he would have left his legendary status fully in tack

I don't give a shit for this bastard,Seluk, and I really respect Yaya for what he did for our club all those years....I want to see him back on the field, and Pep must find the way...

Klopp needs every player to contribute to his system just like Pep does. He would compromise Liverpool like he would us.

Fixed that for you, mate.

Breaking news over on Twitter.
Yaya is to leave City in January and join a celebrity series of Great British Bake Off. An insider at the club has been quoted as saying "Yaya has been told he can fuck off and go bake his own cake."

Yaya Toure is understood to be fuming with Dimitri Seluk for his public rants at Pep Guardiola, which have sealed his fate at City. [Star]

He should fume to the press then as it's his agents mode of communication.

Very good article, clear, concise and not obscured by anything.

The Yaya situation was predictable and expected when we signed Pep. The fact that he is older and the way Guardiola's wants the team to play always meant that at this stage, it will be always be difficult for Yaya to get involved in this team, regardless of his talent. His omission from the champions league squad, for me at least, signified that he was not part of the manager's plans going forward but I thought (or hoped) that there will be opportunities over the course of the season for him to contribute.

The press conference from Guardiola yesterday and him rightfully calling out the agent now signifies that Yaya Toure will not play for us again, things may change but it is highly unlikely now and so the timing of your article was spot on. It is a big moment but there will be a lot to talk about when he finally leaves... a lot of issues concerning Yaya Toure, who I see as one of the ground breaking footballers in recent times. But we will cross that bridge when we get to it.

Toure and his agent go back a long way and in many ways I can understand his loyalty because of how Seluk helped him get to the very top from where he started. But whatever grievances he may have, justifiable or not, the behaviour of the agent has been corrosive, unacceptable and detrimental not only to Yaya but also to the bottom line, which is the image of the club and Yaya has to take responsibility for that. Seluk is his agent and there have been ample opportunities for Yaya to put an end to this ''Seluk and the media '' debacle. So the comment from Guardiola is more of a signal of intent rather than a call for an apology and it definitely signals an end of an era.And also a change in the attitude of future agents and even players towards the club. It draws a line. but hopefully it won't be a source of distraction this season.

In terms of Yaya's legacy, as I said, there is a lot to talk about, and it is all about being able to look back retrospectively. People 10 years - 20 years from now being able to look back.. and what will they remember? Football prevails over all and his impact on the football pitch (and also out of the football pitch e.g charity work and so on) and the way he vandalized flawed perceptions and stereotypes of footballers in terms of their roles in the football pitch and capacities will not be erased or denied and that ultimately is what his legacy will be based upon when the dust settles.
