This is one of the main things I was desperately hoping we would get with Pep. He says jump, everyone asks how high. There is literally no ground for anyone in the squad to think they know better. He is unquestionably top dog, and its about time some were knocked down a peg or two.

Yaya and the agent being dicks is a blessing in disguise for Pep, I'd say.

He's been getting run past in the midfield since he joined, and it's got miles worse as he's got older. He has always been one of the biggest reasons for our European failure and inability to cope with mobile teams. This (and the way that the likes of Nasri slow up play) was clearly something he identified straight away and put right, hence what we are seeing today.

Yaya at his peak would hardly get a game in this team playing this style. There's always been too big a hole in the midfield when he's burst forward.
