Yaya Toure apologises

There is nothing wrong in the slightest for players moving to clubs or seeing out contracts which earn them more money.

However, when players who have been brilliant for a club and could be classed as club legends, constantly hold the club to ransom for more money, then it is going to affect their status amongst fans.

Compare it to Rooney at United. Isn't he their record goal scorer? But he will never be remembered as fondly as the likes of others because of his transfer requests.

To be remembered as an all time club great then you have to be as successful off the pitch as you are on it. It's a shame because Tevez and Yaya are the two players who have dragged us to trophies just as much, if not more so, than any other players.

Yet in 20 years time it will be Kompany, Zab, Dave, Hart and Kun who will be remembered as club legends. And Toure and Tevez only have their actions to blame for it.
That's where I differ from the vast majority on here. I don't care about off the field stuff, I just remember players for what they've done on the pitch. I don't even care how much they earn, as that's down to the club, if they want to pay someone £200k+ a week, then crack on.

Didn't someone post on here that Kompany had some deal in place with Real Madrid (?) if Mancini stayed? Might have been @SWP's back , but then again I could be doing him a disservice. Weren't a couple of the 'legends' involved in getting Mancini out the door?

For the life of me I really don't get why people give a shit what an agent says. As I've said before, just ignore the dick, he'll soon go away if no one listens.

Watch out now, you might just get yourself labelled a neutral. Or worse, a ****! (:

But it's possible for players to do the business on the pitch and be respectful to the club at the same time.

It's not much to ask for when they are earning over £200,000 a week and having their name chanted by 50,000 people on a Saturday.

If you've got a problem with the club then sort in out privately. Don't get your agent to bad mouth the club on a regular basis.

Also, for all the talk about how Yaya has been good for City, we have also been a good fit for him. Whilst at us he went from being a squad playing DM at Barca, to a world class complete midfielder.

Both parties has benefitted from Yaya being here and he should do well to remember that.

Seluk at it again, telling BBC Guardiola treats players "like dogs" and should "go to be coach in Afghanistan" #mcfc

He is going to get sued soon I think. City don't mess about on stuff like this. Defamation of character. He will apologise before christmas.

Tbh, he might have a point, but for a few things:

a) Pep gets paid for results, not being mates with the staff.
b) none of the other staff, even those deposed such as JH, have had a bad word to say.

To some extent it depends on what he wants to do post retirement. If he just wants to put his feet up, then go for the money. But what if he doesn't? I don't really see Yaya as a coach or manager but he might have ambitions in that direction. He did speak once about having some sort of ambassadorial role for City. He might want to get involved in the media or even politics. How he finishes his career might be important in taking those next steps.
Why can't he squeeze as much money as possible out of the final years of his playing career and still go into management, media or politics? Are the two mutually exclusive?

There is no way he will get to be our embassador, when he leaves that will be him gone ,no doubt leaving with some more vile insults from him and that leech of his

Can't wait until January until these cunts are gone.

Thanks for the memories. I have good ones with exes as well and I'm still able to know they are cunts.

if there is any controversy around our club the rag media are straight on it , we smashed them in the derby , played them off the park , and all they can write/talk about is Bravo's cock-up , we win nine on the spin and yaya and his slimy pimp are making headlines , same old same old

No I never mentioned a club.

I do know Kompany, along with a few other favourites ensured Mancini left when he did.

JH is still on contract so he would be unable to comment negatively even if he wanted too. As it happens, he's too professional to get involved in slanging matches and instead would let his displays do his talking, or Pep's talking if his displays are poor.

But there are many others who have left City for good and have unadvisably slagged the club off, claiming that the spirit was being ripped apart, yet these departing players have never gone on to better things unlike their replacements who helped make City winners. No doubt that when Yaya eventually moves on, he or his agent will similarly slag us off, but as his replacements take us on to greater things then will any of us complain? As long as Pep delivers then Yaya or Seluk will be on thin ice.

By losing the the FA Cup final to Wigan? Good of them wasn't it?
No. I still believe that was just a bad day at the office and the decision had already been made.

If I believed they threw that game I don't think I'd have watched another game until they'd all left.

Not many left now though and none played last week in the league.

When my lad asks me 15 years from now if i remember Yaya Toure only thing i could tell him is that he was a fantastic player for us but a poor professional, cant be mentioned in the lines of Merlin, Zaba or Aguero etc,Will mostly remember his moments not his years here. Not blessed with the footy IQ to make a good manager or the
character to galvanise a group of players like a Simeone. When he leaves, that will be the end of his r/sip with the club.
