Re: Yaya Toure

Yaya's agent: “Ok we've done everything we can......City won't improve your deal, PSG, Real and Barca haven't come up with anything, but I'm happy to tell you that Man U are prepared to give you what you want!”

Yaya: “**** that, get me on SSN NOW!”

Re: Yaya Toure

Like many others I have been really annoyed by the whole Yaya saga this summer.

However, if he now stays, the danger is that fans may vent their anger at him during games which could have a bad effect on the team performance as a whole.

Re: Yaya Toure

Can only be good news that he's staying. There have certainly been mitigating circumstances for his behaviour in the last couple of months. He's made some serious errors of judgement and has an unhealthy trust of an agent who's only interested in the next big paycheck.
All in all I believe City have played the whole thing to perfection, not a single leak from within saying one thing or another which has left said agent floundering. In the end I think that Yaya and his party have been surprised (they shouldn't be..) at our resolve and a deal has been struck which suits both parties. We get another season( at a stretch 2) from him whilst he's still just about at his peak and then he's allowed to leave once the transfer restrictions are lifted.
City play the long game these days...

Makes me laugh this it is a bit like the paranoid person who ruins a good marriage because of imagined infidelity. Yaya said nowt , city said nowt and yet to many the situation in their minds was worse than tevez?

A little bit creepy ........
To be fair it was hardly caused by a misunderstanding, it really did all come from Yaya's side.

Glad he's staying (for the season at least), I can see an awesome season coming up with Yaya further upfield.

Football fans are fickle, we'll be singing his name again after a few top performances.

Yaya Toure has vowed to remain at Manchester City as he asked for an end to a summer of speculation largely begun by his own agent.

Toure and his representative Dimitri Seluk spoke to Sky Sports News toay to confirm the Ivory Coast international's intention to honour his contract - which runs until 2017 - at the Etihad Stadium.

"The fans have always been good to me, they've always been good to my family," Toure said. "I want to stay. I will always honour my contract.

"I don't think about all this speculation. It's a big pleasure to stay and enjoy the next season."

But Toure described the speculation as "disappointing" as he said he owed a debt to City fans.

"Everything is fine now," he said. "There was a lot of speculation, you know. I think sometimes it's quite disappointing. I need to do something for the fans, it's important to let them know.

"They've done a lot for me. The team is preparing well and we will try to win again next season."

Seluk, who spoke before Toure, had said: "I would like to say Yaya will stay at City. He won't go to any club. Everybody can stop speculation about this.

"Yaya will stay at Manchester City 100%. He has a contract, he will work very hard and I hope this season he will be the best player in England."

Although Seluk is seen as the source of so much of the speculation - something he has a record for starting most summers, even before Toure signed for City - Toure backed his agent.

"He's quite strong sometimes, but he's a very good guy," he said.

"To be honest, we never wanted to talk about money. There are more important things than money. To be happy, healthy. Respect as well is very important."

Seluk was even able to laugh at some of the more surreal stories that have come out in recent weeks.

"I hope now everybody will have a very friendly relationship," he said. "I hope his next birthday they will celebrate together."
