Chelsea won the league with that formation this season, you rely on the full backs to provide width. I'm a traditionalist too and enjoy a good 4-4-2 it's just not effective in today's game, hardly any top teams play 4-4-2 now.

Yeah, and Chelsea scored shitloads, even with Ivanovic (a converted centre-back) providing width on the right side. Of course, Anelka roamed the channels, but Adebayor and Tevez are ace at that anyway.

As the boy rightly says, no-one plays 4-4-2 any more. Hence we had Barry & De Jong getting dicked by the better teams, and pushed deep. The only way to play was to counter quickly with Bellamy/Sweep, or lump it to Adebayor.

The figure of £36m is just speculation from that website, there are no quotes from Barca that mention a price so why is everyone believing this website any more than they believe the Daily Mail or any other websites?

If Barca are after that figure they are playing a dangerous game because if I was in charge at Arsenal I would be saying "You want £30 million for Toure yet are only offering us the same for Fabregas, either give us £50 million or fuck off"!

Most we should be looking to pay for Yaya is around £25m imo, all though i'm pretty sure he will be a huge success in the Prem, £30m is too much.

I would be happy to go without wingers. The game has changed nowadays, how many wingers in World football influence a game every week? Half the time a winger is stood out wide with a finger up his arse doing fuck all. I would much rather pack the middle with quality.

Swap Barry and Yaya, Barry's better at holding and Yaya likes to get forward, something Barca didn't let him do. If you were going for 4-1-3-2 as opposed to 4-3-2-1 then it'd be something like:

agree about swapping toure for barry but toure in a central midfield position
