That's his game at Barca because they needed a holding midfielder as they have Xavi and Iniesta going forward, can't really compete with those two can you. At Olympiakos and Monaco he was a proper, box-to-box, driving midfielder.

To be fair he couldnt compete with busquets neither this season. Surely the vaulation is too high here

Barca don't want a powerhorse midfielder though do they. They want a holding midfielder that can retain possession, they want Barry lol. Yaya might not get ahead of Busquets in La Liga but he certainly would in the Premiership, he's got the physicality to cut it here, he's powerful, energetic and strong, he can pass, tackle, shoot and head. £30 million would be my limit but we'll get him for about £25m in my opinion.

I know I'll get slated for saying it but Yaya and Barry in the middle next year.

Johnson--Yaya--Barry--Milner

Really don't think we're going to see a flat 4-4-2 next season, not from the start of games anyway.

--------------- Barry ---------------
------- Yaya --------- Milner -------
-------------- Johnson -------------

That works though, with Johnson drifting from wing to wing depending how and where we're attacking.

Arsenal - With the rejection of the latest Fabregas bid and his agent previously already stating he won't be going to Arsenal you could perhaps rule these out as unlikely.

Man United - £716m in the red, unlikely. Plus they have that world class Midfield already, right?

Man City - His brother plays for us and its no secret they would like to play with each other before they retire, here is there last oppurtunity, we have the money for it and are in need of a quality box-to-box midfielder, something we know Mancini has been in the market for. Latest reports suggest we have been in talks with Yaya and things certainly point towards us.

Chelsea - Apparently a bid rejected in the past and the though of Essien, Yaya and Lampard in the middle is a scary one. Probably the only other true possibility of signing him. Although on the CFC forum they also seem to think the latest news of him on his way to the Prem is him heading to Eastlands.

My money is on City.

None from Greece, that's just what I heard, and only saw him at Monaco in European round up shows and on internet sites that used to offer the same sort of thing, like 101goals.com.

I'd never claim to be an expert on his time in Greece or France, nor would I on his time at Barca for that matter, but my opinion, from what I did see, is that he could be what we need.

And Busquets is Spanish and from their youth system.

Re: Yaya (Merged)

wonder how it's going to go off when the season starts and he's the fulcrum of our midfield and his older brother is on the bench, if that.
