Yaya Toure Retires - City Legend and one of the Best ever

Yaya - great player - but I reckon my cat who spends most of its time chasing its own tail or shitting itself when I make a sound such as a cough has more intellect than him
Can your cat speak 5 different languages?
No.Yaya Toure was successful on 3 different continents, 5 diff countries..a pure footballing genius. ..WTF your cat has to do with one of the all time football greats I hv no idea.
Idiot.

Being a great footballer doesn’t make him intelligent there is no correlation whatsoever between the two. I never said he wasn’t a great player (in fact I specifically said he was a great player). He comes across however as dumb as toast. Speaking languages isn’t a sign of intelligence. Many 4 year olds can be bi-lingual or better but ask them their opinion on current political events or ask them to solve a logical puzzle and they are likely to pick their nose and flick it at you. Yaya comes across as a serious dumbo in interviews (listen to him being interviewed at Brighton - on more than one occasion he didnt answer the question and they as to drag him back, or when he picked 6 forwards in his best 11) whilst his agents comments which he doesn’t resolve hardly dispel the rumour. For info the cat reference is a metaphor

Will always be renembered for huge on field moments, semi final and cup final winners 2011 leading to our first trophy in 35 years.Newcastle away 2012, 20 league goals in 2013/4, league cup final goal 2014, winning penalty in 2016 league cup final plus many other moments. It is sad his legacy is tarnished for non footballing reasons and he won't be held in the same esteem as VInny, Zab, Merlin and Fern....

Has signed for Chinese second division club.

Don't care about the stats, consistency, trophies, personality etc. personally he's the greatest CM of all time. Technically flawless with both feet (which is rarity these days), could do any type of pass, impossible to dispossess, could finish like a striker, had a stamina of a marathon runner, Xavi's like footballing intelligence (on the pitch) and many many more aspects with regards to his ability on the ball and vision. Don't care about his ability without the ball, football is being played with the ball at your feet and all GOATs are GOATs because of their ability on the ball (Maradona, Pele, Messi, Zidane etc.) and not because you can run 24/7 in circles like Henderson.

Yep.
Dave Silva is my favourite City player, but Yaya is the best player we've ever had. He could do everything.

Yaya was a man among boys, unplayable. The FA Cup semi-final, the third goal in the rain (3-0 against Villa?), every penalty he ever took. A privilege to watch him.
