Yaya Toure to Milan?

City Watch @City_Watch · 2h 2 hours ago
The Times: Inter striker Mauro Icardi (22) could yet be used as a makeweight in any deal to take Yaya to Italy.

The only way they are going to sign Toure is if they offload players to fund him or part exchange players with us and Icardi will probably be one of them.

I could only see it being him or Kovacic.

Serie A's biggest earner is Daniele De Rossi at s £5.2m per year.

Yaya makes twice that.

So how is that supposed to work? Toure is 32 in May and is clearly past his prime. In a slower less physically demanding league he could still do well for a few years but why would he take a massive pay cut to go to Italy?

Italian clubs are notoriously cheap, even the big ones. It's difficult to imagine any of them shelling out a fee on top of incredible wages on a 32 year old Toure.
That 5.2 De Rossi earns is a take home. Actually Roma pays him £12 M a year.

We should demand Kovacic if Inter want Yaya.

Him, Sterling and Lopes could be part of our AM for a decade, and I can see Silva playing for a good few years yet.

According to Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri are prepared to include their highly-rated midfielder Kovacic in the deal to sign Toure from Manchester City at the end of the season.

I think they are going to have to end up putting in one of Kovacic or Icardi in the deal, or sell one of them to partly fund him.

Wages wise Yaya is going to be very expensive which will add at least £20m on top of his transfer fee, in regards to that transfer fee I will be astonished if we accept less than £15m.

Yaya might be finished at the level we want to be at but for Inter, City will know he is easily a £15m+ player if he goes there and scores 10- 15 goals and assists 10 in each season he is there, even if he is 32 in May.

His work rate will get less exposed in Serie A as well and I think Mancini would play him in a number ten position where at City he isn't going to play there over Silva if we play in with a midfield 5 or Aguero if we play 4-4-2.

Its not about the top line its about take-home pay.....income tax will be lower for example its only 15% in Turkey

Perhaps he could play in Italy and commute from Istanbul.
