Yaya Toure

March 24th 2012. Stoke City away, 1-0 down to that Crouch goal, and we were a shambles, a forlorn and sorry mess. Everybody was shirking responsibility and we looked void of ideas and doomed to failure. Toure stepped forward and simply smashed the ball in from distance, keeping us in the game and in the title race to boot. Others will wax lyrical about other goals and moments, others will snipe about cakes and trifles, but that moment epitomised him for the team and the club: a colossus.

In his entire time here our success has felt intrinsically linked to his performances. When he was down he would drag everyone down with him, yet when he was on fire he would win us titles. Felt like he's single handedly dragged us over the line more often than any one player should and has never received the professional acclaim he deserved, despite sometimes being a bit of a mard arse and having a complete **** of an agent. Certainly been an incredible journey. Won't say goodbye till he's definitely gone, but he'll always be considered one of our very best.

He should have defintley won the player of the year for the 2013/14 season but was snubbed. If he had gotten the credit he sought after from the media maybe he wouldn't have acted out so many times like he did.

yaya took us to the next level and been top class for us maybe this yr he hasnt been his best but some player cheers yaya thanks for the memories

He was getting the accolades until cake gate. He threw it all away when he did that.

His goals against the SCUM and Stoke in the FA Cup gave me something I thought I'd never have. Thank you for ending the drought Yaya. Etched in this clubs history. Thank you.
