Yaya

From an outsiders point of view i see Yaya as your most important player after Silva.

He's so great at passing the ball between the midfield lines and finding offensive players higher up the pitch. His forward passing is what starts the majority of your attacks. One minute it looks safe for the opposition and then he just slips a penetrative ball into a dangerous area.

Correct me if I'm not mistaken some of the folks here prefer their own 'favourite City player' over Yaya for the central midfielder position. Thats why the inordinate amount and irrational slagging of Yaya for whatever reason. Thats understandable. But let not that deters us from ensuring that we make the right choice or selection for the GOOD of CITY. That is let see the 'woods for the trees'.

Yaya is the best central midfielder City has ever had and the best PL midfielder right now bar none. He has delivered every instances when the chips are down.

He is worth every penny. He is an important cog in the whole City team. He made the sum greater than the parts!

Kolo has also been vilified here for more or less the same reason. Lest we forget Kolo is the main reason why Yaya is here.

Kolo is an experienced WC player. Together with Lescott & VK we have the best CB trio among the various PL clubs.

IMO The result at City of Light might have been different if Kolo had been the right CB. Watch the video clip again VK let Ji Dong slipped behind him because VK, first instinct, went for Sessegnon. We had 3 City players going after the ball.

As an experienced CB guarding the right side Kolo would not have let it happened knowing that VK was covering his left side. He would have kept Ji under wrap.

After Dzeko, my favorite player on the squad is Yaya Toure.

He is class in every respect and reminds me so much of Zidane in the way he conducts himself on the field, although Zidane was more physically and technically dominant.

yaya is what you call top drawer.

the man is just immense.

there isn't a more complete midfielder certainly in premiership. last night he grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck when we were losing our way slightly and thats what makes him so good.

people think he has to play every game because its in his contract. personally its just because he is that good.

Why can an arsenal fan see this yet so many blues are blind to it? Yaya dictates most games he plays. Lol at him being 'dogshit' on Sunday, he wasn't

I understand that this is a boring thread but I must say my piece.

When he first joined City in that big money deal for all those wages I didn't mind, because we've got loads of money and he struck me as a good player at Barcelona, who had just won everything available including the Nobel Prize for Football. At 6'5" I knew he would be an excellent Centre Half, maybe a good partner for the rapidly emerging Vincent Kompany. Obviously the fact that his brother and mentor Kolo was at the club already made a massive difference, but I have never felt like he came here under duress or to pacify other people. He is here to win trophies, just like the one he scored his way to last year. And we won't let him down, because the whole team, including the management team and the back room staff want the same thing. But he didn't slot in at Centre Half, or Defensive Midfielder. He slotted in everywhere. If ever a player could fit in, out of position, it is Yaya Toure.

He reminds me of the big blue fella from Watchmen. Striding amongst mortals but head and shoulders above them. I imagine that he looks upon us as pitiful creatures just because we cannot see that turn or pass as quickly as he can. But he doesn't hate us, he loves us, because like Superman he appreciates the joy we show when he saves us.

I love you Yaya.
Top top top player Redknapp (as Harry would say). He takes longer than your normal Premier League player to reach full fitness and body fat levels (understandable, players will have varying degrees of fitness and physical attributes even if they do play the same level of sport) but once he's in full flow he's absolutely brilliant. Between February and the end of the season last season he was the best player in England. Here's selfishly hoping Cote D'ivoire get knocked out of the ACON early doors!
