Yaya's agent goes in hard on Txiki

City are playing poker with Seluk & he doesn't like it. City have the cards & there not blinking, Seluk throwing anything at City to get them to play & it's not happening. Yaya has to come in & make a play & ask for a new deck but not at City's expense he has to move on with City paying fookall if they can..

And this children, is how to stretch a metaphor until it pops like a balloon.
:-)

(You're right, though. I think).

You certainly are my friend.

Yes Seluk is a dick, but he's the dick who Yaya owes a debt of gratitude to just that same as between Tevez and Joorabchian. They represent their player's best interests not the clubs.

In terms of Yaya, we're definitely a better team with him and the perfect storm for me would be to have both Yaya and Pogba here for the balance of Yaya's contract so Pogba can learn from him.

Hand on heart, Toure, Silva, Aguero and Tevez are the four best City players I've ever seen and that was taking the likes of Bell, Lee and Summerbee into account. It's just a pity Yaya's twilight years have been spent coping in a midfield two which doesn't suit him which is not his fault.

Yaya probably feels he has another 2-3 years at the top left in him and I would agree which is why Seluk is trying to illustrate this in his own unique way. Txiki had a job to do when he was brought here which was quite evidently to secure his mate Pep. This is why I believe Mancini was constructively dismissed to make way for Pep albeit 12 months later than the club would have liked, because who could have sacked him after QPR.

As for Pellegrini's treatment, he had a 3 year contract which he's seen out. We all suspected the 1 year contract extension he was given was just to stop constant speculation over his future and wasn't a vote of confidence in his managerial ability from the club. I trust he'll be paid handsomely for that final year which for a man who's responsible for our season on season decline since he came here and our inclusion in the fourth place mini league ain't half bad.

Happy Sunday Yaya

We saw all this played out with Tevez & Joorabchian.

It was almost always around a big game, or a key moment in the season. It's supposed to disrupt the dressing room and scare the club into giving in to his demands. (I remember about an hour after we beat West Ham to go top in 2011, Joorabchian released a statement: "Carlos is very unhappy..." )

This is Yaya's last big contract and Seluk wants a huge one. The easiest place would be with City, but really he doesn't care which country he has to move Yaya to to get it.

He knew it was 50/50 at best before the Guardiola announcement, and he figures the chances are virtually none once Guardiola arrives. So he's spent the last 3 months pushing the club as hard as he can, issuing ultimatums through the press, changing his story every 2 mins about why Yaya wants to leave or stay (I thought Joorbachian was scum, but even he never used a player's deceased family member as a reason).

Obviously the club have ignored him, and are close to, or maybe have confirmed Gundogan already, so this prick has nowhere else to go except back to the press.

We can discuss Yaya's role in all this, but we'll never truly know. Like Tevez, his agent is like family, so there's no way he's not fully aware of what's happening. But maybe he's also incredibly embarrassed by the stuff Seluk comes out with, but Seluk tells him this is the best way to negotiate, we'll never know.

What we do know is how much has changed since Toure signed his first deal. Whether Txiki really said we were a 'shit' club then or not, the truth is that in 2008-9 we needed players like Tevez & Toure, whatever baggage came with them. We simply couldn't force ourselves into the closed shop of the elite without players of that level, and the players they helped to attract.

And maybe if those two players didn't have such greedy tw*ts as agents, they might have accepted the situations they were both in at United & Barcelona at the time, and we wouldn't have got them in the first place. So in a funny kind of way, we have to be thankful for these utter wankers.

But, just like with Tevez, for the club it seems that enough is now enough.

Yaya will always be a legend to me, the first FA cup win under Mancini, the league cup wins, the Newcastle game in 2012, the 20 goals in 2013-14, his total midfield dominance of derbies from 2011-2014, and THAT semi final goal. (I can still it see rolling past Van de Sar..)

He is a legend, a big game player, who helped us establish ourselves and will hopefully help us make history on Tuesday. Then him and his tw*t of an agent can leave, with our thanks.

And by the way, those of us who were at this season's FA cup game at Stamford Bridge (despite the score) might have something to say about Seluk's claim that: "The experiment to turn City into another Barcelona will fail."

Most successful English club of the last 5 years, one the greatest managers in history about to take over, generations of incredibly talented young players coming through, an unlimited transfer budget for the senior team, the best youth facilities in the world...

You sure about that Dimitri?

That's how I see it. Giving Yaya a new contract would be utter insanity. He's finished. The club don't come out of this smelling of roses, though. He should have been sold 2 seasons ago when he could command a fee.

Top post, well done.

i think Txiki did a fine job in the last window . But one blunder we made in the last window was not ensuring to have a good backup striker for Kun .. How we made that blunder and over-valued Bony I dont know ..but we look toothless without Kun upfront and if we proceed to the next round of CL , Kun cant play every game ...
But then I also think that was a decision Pellegrini made. We also need to see that for anyone coming in we would have to put someone out of the CL squad (which is humiliating and depressing). I think not having another CL spot might have influenced that decision. If Nasri was fit we would already have one out in him (maybe Kelechi could stay out).

YaYa has been a fantastic player for City.

It is a shame his agent chooses to knock the club so much & often. I guess he has his reasons.

I think YaYa will move on this summer. I will remember his highlights & be happy that we don't have to hear his agent mouthing off so often.

I'd be surprised if YaYa does come back in an official capacity.

Absolutely spot on. Selchuk has had no response to his earlier grenades so plays out the final end game with the chance of creating as many problems for those within the club as possible.

Funny thing is txiki is as hard as nails and has probably laughed at his tantrums, the person he is showing the most lack of respect for is the owner

Spot on with that post.

It's funny how players can so easily be hauled over to coals by the FA for "bringing the game into disrepute" whereas ironically they or their agents seem to be able to bring the club into disrepute with impunity. Maybe as was said above we were in such a position of weakness when we signed the likes of Toure that we had no choice but to tolerate shite like this?

But surely going forward we need to have contractual provision to stop this kind of rubbish happening again. Players need to be held responsible for what their agents say, via specific confidentiality clauses and contractual terms that spell out financial consequences ie fines for this kind of shit. Had we had these in place, Yaya would have told Seluk to shut his trap and keep it shut long ago.

I cannot think of another industry where an employee would be able to make derogatory comments like this, either directly or via his agent, without severe consequences. I for one know I would be summarily dismissed without pay were I to have said something like this.

I'll add this to the list of things I couldn't give a fuck about.
It'll play out in the Summer however Pep wants it to play out and we can all move on.

"Give us a free transfer or we'll pay you £10m"

Is that ultimatum supposed to bother the club?

Haha, good one!

Okay, Seluk, we surrender!

Not long ago he was venting saying there were no pictures of Yaya around the stadium, until pointed out 40ft fucking mural right outside.

Same went for the cake...

As for his 'threat', he would 'promise' not to sign for an English club, good luck with that one!
