Yaya's agent goes in hard on Txiki

"Give us a free transfer or we'll pay you £10m"

Is that ultimatum supposed to bother the club?

I imagine a calm 'er.........no' will suffice. As if that greedy **** will buy Yaya out of anything. He won't get that for him as a signing on fee.

City are in a position where they don't actually have to do anything at all, except whatever they want.

Whilst slating Txiki, he missed out the bit where he himself basically said we were a shit, small time club & Yaya wouldn't be signing for us, before he signed for us. Allegedly without paying the agent's bribe he wanted.

hoping for a Chinese team to come out of woodwork and offer a massive fee for him. This routine is old, stale, and growing increasingly more inflammatory. Seluk knows Pep won't have Yaya and is taking a flamethrower to Yaya's legacy at the club.

I've enjoyed Yaya's time at the club but it's clear this is the summer club and player part ways and Seluk is determined to make it anything but amicable. What a troll.

Seluk said a couple of weeks ago they have turned down an offer from china, probably lying though

Seluk is the agent and should guide his player and protect him but he consistenly behaves like a pillock. I don't know how complicit Yaya is in all this but I wish he would / could / do something to muzzle the guy.

Don't know how much truth there is in his comments but he appears to he having a tantrum because he cannot get his own way.

Guess it's that time of the year for Seluk again. Can't Yaya just tell his agent to shut the fuck up? Iit only further tarnishes Yaya's reputations (which should not be what he deserves after 6 years of service) rather than painting the club in bad light. Three months ago he's saying Pep was crap, and now he turns to Txiki. Who's next? The sheikh?

It doesn't matter whether there is a tiny bit of truth in Seluk's rant or not. The media has been writing about most of what he's saying anyway. But when your client is still a player of City, there are somethings best left unsaid in the public, particularly if your track record are full of lies, insults and nonsense.

Flamethrower indeed

Our Central Defence is all about the manager's tactics.

The manager can certainly take a lot of the blame for our defensive weaknesses. But yesterday we didn't struggle with deep runners, tactical flaws or moment of brilliance. We couldn't clear goal kicks. Simple Sunday morning hoofs up field were causing us all sorts of trouble. At some point, £30 million defenders have to take some responsibility.

Oh, Seluk is a clown.

We saw all this played out with Tevez & Joorabchian.

It was almost always around a big game, or a key moment in the season. It's supposed to disrupt the dressing room and scare the club into giving in to his demands. (I remember about an hour after we beat West Ham to go top in 2011, Joorabchian released a statement: "Carlos is very unhappy..." )

This is Yaya's last big contract and Seluk wants a huge one. The easiest place would be with City, but really he doesn't care which country he has to move Yaya to to get it.

He knew it was 50/50 at best before the Guardiola announcement, and he figures the chances are virtually none once Guardiola arrives. So he's spent the last 3 months pushing the club as hard as he can, issuing ultimatums through the press, changing his story every 2 mins about why Yaya wants to leave or stay (I thought Joorbachian was scum, but even he never used a player's deceased family member as a reason).

Obviously the club have ignored him, and are close to, or maybe have confirmed Gundogan already, so this prick has nowhere else to go except back to the press.

We can discuss Yaya's role in all this, but we'll never truly know. Like Tevez, his agent is like family, so there's no way he's not fully aware of what's happening. But maybe he's also incredibly embarrassed by the stuff Seluk comes out with, but Seluk tells him this is the best way to negotiate, we'll never know.

What we do know is how much has changed since Toure signed his first deal. Whether Txiki really said we were a 'shit' club then or not, the truth is that in 2008-9 we needed players like Tevez & Toure, whatever baggage came with them. We simply couldn't force ourselves into the closed shop of the elite without players of that level, and the players they helped to attract.

And maybe if those two players didn't have such greedy tw*ts as agents, they might have accepted the situations they were both in at United & Barcelona at the time, and we wouldn't have got them in the first place. So in a funny kind of way, we have to be thankful for these utter wankers.

But, just like with Tevez, for the club it seems that enough is now enough.

Yaya will always be a legend to me, the first FA cup win under Mancini, the league cup wins, the Newcastle game in 2012, the 20 goals in 2013-14, his total midfield dominance of derbies from 2011-2014, and THAT semi final goal. (I can still it see rolling past Van de Sar..)

He is a legend, a big game player, who helped us establish ourselves and will hopefully help us make history on Tuesday. Then him and his tw*t of an agent can leave, with our thanks.

And by the way, those of us who were at this season's FA cup game at Stamford Bridge (despite the score) might have something to say about Seluk's claim that: "The experiment to turn City into another Barcelona will fail."

Most successful English club of the last 5 years, one the greatest managers in history about to take over, generations of incredibly talented young players coming through, an unlimited transfer budget for the senior team, the best youth facilities in the world...

You sure about that Dimitri?
Top post & 100% true. Like I said City hold the cards we just need to get trough the next 3 league games & Tuesday & see where we are, hopefully secured top 4 & Semi Final CL

Goddamnit, I have nothing but disdain for Seluk but it's a testament to your absolutely fantastic post that I agree with you. Great point, well made.

Joorabchian released the email to the press to get Cooke sacked. A still very angry Mr Cooke said so. Joorabchian is banned from Abu Dhabi

Cook was not d.o.f. you should be saying 'bring back Marwood'. Ah but it was all his fault whenever we didn't win the league previously.

He'd best retract his interview a few years back then if he wasn't the d.o.f;-)

Ex-City chief executive Garry Cook lavished a fortune on players in the aftermath of Sheikh Mansour’s 2008 takeover.

Cook sanctioned a £32m deal for Brazilian superstar Robinho and he landed Carlos Tevez the next year.

But Cook rates getting Toure as the best piece of business he ever did – and insists the Ivorian didn’t leave Barcelona for the £200,000-a-week wages.

“Yaya Toure was the one player who became the catalyst for change at the football club,” said Cook.

“He has become City’s talisman. The popular perception is that we signed Robinho and Carlos Tevez to attract other players to the club.

“But both of those guys were in it for what they could get rather than what they could do for City.

“Yaya was different. He came and said, ‘I’m going to make this club great’. He was THE ONE. After we signed him, every top player began to see the possibilities at City.

“David Silva, for example. If we hadn’t signed Yaya, I don’t think David would have come.

"Once we signed Yaya, all the others followed. He was like a Pied Piper."

I think he's a legend why? Because I like to judge it on what he's done for us on the pitch and not what his **** of an agent says to the Mirror. If it wasn't for yaya we damn well wouldn't be where we are now imo.

I'm with you on that, IWH.

Yaya's contribution to our success over the last six years cannot be overstated.

He scored the winner in both the semi-final and final of our first FA Cup win for 42 years, two goals at Newcastle, which made Agüeroooooooooo possible, 20 or so goals, as well as many assists, in our second Premier League title success and much more besides.

It matters not one jot what Seluk has seen fit to come out with; Yaya's status as a Manchester City legend is assured, IMHO.

All that got blown away though when cakegate raised it's ugly head, followed by the death of Yaya's brother. Yaya's silence other than his "Selek speaks for me" comment, along with two seasons of mainly lacklustre work would strongly suggest he wants away. We will only find out the truth if his contract is really going to be bought out.

I think Garry cooked his own goose (pun intended) by lying about the original email to his then employers.

Where did Joorabchian get a copy of the email from?

Wasn't Joorabchian SWP's agent?

SWP and Nedum are mates...
