Yokohama (A) - Pre-Season Friendly | Post-Match Thread

Thought it was a good tempo game, they are a decent side but our quality shone through eventually, don’t like putting any player down but phillips really isn’t doing himself any favours, the only player who underperformed again
 
Good workout.

Always better to win.

Don’t think we learnt a lot and half a game is not enough to conclude about players we don’t know well.

Kovacic is not an unknown quantity and looked at home.

I’ve seen very little of Bobb but he did well.

Phillips no doubt getting stick but he played a few very good passes and was instrumental in City’s second.

John Stones is simply an exceptional football player.

Foden was very lively. Looks like he means serious business this year.

Joao Cancelo demonstrated that getting a replacement with his ability won’t be easy / cheap.

Haaland is Haaland.
 
Good fun that. The second half team had loads of energy as well. Lots of positives

Hang on are you saying the club hasn't taken the trophies to ALL those supporter club meetings since the season ended ? Thats awful. Let me me know which of the meetings missed out and I'll email the club.

Bit unfair that,some others weren’t at it either,but for me Phillips just isn’t up to the task at City and sometimes signings don’t work out I think this is one of them ..

They were in the Club Store at the Arndale the other week. They also had a Parade 2 days after the Champions League Final.

It's the price you pay for success.
 
Only seen the goals. A decent workout for the lads. Bayern will be a stiffer test in a few days time.

Didn't watch the match...what about Bernardo? He played just a few minutes,why? Injured?.... I hope the young lads stay and play (Palmer,McAtee, Lewis...etc)
 
I'm certain the three trophies are at Wembley and City around the Barcoded visit.

Great game, considering the readiness. Yokohama F. Marinos is such a wonderful club. Great city, and City did not dip in class against a fighting fit outfit on the road in Tokyo. Be great if both clubs end a season in the league as they did last.
