York Away - can you spot yerself?

Yeah. They say York was our lowest point but surely turning up to the match after that showed even more loyalty. Especially with a shitty lunchtime kick off time on a boxing day.

In addition to losing at York on the 19th Dec 1998, we also lost league games to Fulham, Preston, Lincoln, Reading, Oldham and Wycombe that season ...... as well as losing to Derby in the League Cup, Wimbledon in the FA Cup, and Mansfield in the Auto Windscreen trophy!!!

But as low as things were after the York defeat, i felt a real upsurge in our determination and desire to reach the play offs during the home win over Stoke on the 28th Dec 1998, we were a goal down, but City came roaring back to win with the Maine Road crowd right behind them ..... from that point on, with only the odd 'blip', it was full steam ahead, culminating in the play off final comeback win over Gillingham at Wembley.

In a peculiar turn of events, yes I can see myself, yellow jacket, specs, stood a couple of rows back just above the steward.

The twist is that I am pretty certain I didn't go to the game?

Any photos of Blackpool away 3 weeks later?
Freezing cold, stood in a stand that could only be described as a scrapyard, shit match, not one shot on target.
Good session in Blackpool that afternoon/evening though

At the time I recall it was the period when I was losing my religion and as far as I can remember that’s either me in the corner or in that’s me in the spotlight.

One of the worst games I have watched. Freezing as you say and the pitch was atrocious. Weaver bailed us out a couple of times with a few decent saves.

My worst memories of that season (a season I actually thoroughly enjoyed for a variety of reasons) are Lincoln away, Wycombe home and away, and getting my head kicked in at Darlington in the FA cup first round. I never went to York.

Big up to our female blues. Looks like a lot there on that day.

I can’t believe it - I’m actually on this picture.

I tried to find my old ticket stub a couple of years ago cos nobody believed me when I said I was there.

I found loads of old tickets but not this one.

What a result - not the day I mean but turning up on this.

Happy days!!!

Mad to think how all these will fit into the away end at Bodo Glimt!

Yep, i looks like a bit of a place to have to get to .... in January too, you might have to put your thermal jockey shorts on , or huddle together in that away end for warmth !!

Good stuff. Can you share where abouts? I'm sure you've changed a bit since then so don't worry about City's facial recognition.
