3 of us in the away end. Ourfriend Mark Tinkler played for York and sorted us out with tickets.

I always considered the Lincoln defeat as my lowest point a few weeks earlier.
I was at York though, and also our last ever FA Cup 1st and 2nd Round appearances v Halifax and both games v Darlington

A few candidates for the lowest point that season:

Stockport County Away, November 1998 - the 3-1 defeat
Crewe away - Boxing Day 1998 - lost 1 nil away.
They preceded that Bury game.

You have lost me on those two. Do you mean 1997?

As far as I recall both Stockport and Bury were a Division above City in 1998-99.

Remember it well went with ex girlfriend and a good friend . Finished the night at friends christmas party at stockport county's ground. What a day and what a night ha ha

The thing that sticks in my mind about that game was someone starting the chant "number 1 is Tony Vaughan... number 2 is Tony Vaughan..."
