Yossi Benayoun

Would have really liked him at City, really agile, hard-working player who is Champions League quality.

Marcotti @benlyt: Sport5 in Israel: #LFC #Benayoun, 30, has signed a four-year deal with #Chelsea. Interesting replacement for J Cole, 28

From Twitter
Normally i would just dismiss it But Marcotti seems to get most things right

Cheers

Say what you want, Benayoun is quite simply not as good as Joe Cole. S'pose there's more chance of him avoiding injury, but you've got to question letting a proven player go on a free and bringin one of lesser quality in for a fee (though not sure what the fee is yet)

Disagree there, Benayoun is an excellent player for me - one of the most underrated in the league

Yeah, I'd go along with that. Will prove to be a very canny bit of business if they can get him in for around 7 million....

All thse people bigging up Joe Cole can you tell me why Ancellotti and Capelli are not playing him?

He had a cruciate knee injury, and has not played regularly since, and he hasn't recaptured the form that made his name

Benayoun is quality, but you have to give him a free role to get the best out of him. He's a player I'd have liked to see at City a couple of years ago (when it wasn't really possible), but not now. The Premiership has seen the best of Benayoun

On his game he's a better player than Ireland at his best, he loves that slide rule pass into the inside-forward position to Torres (spin/goal/see ya later), great engine, proper busy bastherd. Simply offering yourself (cause your not playing the shitbag game of 'don't pass to me you make the mistake') to your teammates 100 times a match puts pressure on your opponents cause it's got to be covered...simple game sometimes. Good player

good signing. v underrated. can be a bit of headless chicken at times, but admire his spirit and drive. doesn't always have the Finnish to compliment his hard work. but will undoubtedly benefit from the decent service and better recipients than Lucas, Ngog ect. good luck to him, deserves a shot, prolly wont get too many opportunities though eh.
