Just been told that Thomas Cook instead of flying 2 aircraft to Hamburg are only taking one larger aircraft (but with a total of less seats). Those with 3800 points and above went into a ballot for what seats were left today and we`ve been unsuccessful. So I can get a match ticket, but Thoams Cook can`t supply a flight......thanks a fucking million, won`t be using you again.
Might go ticket office on way home to get a match ticket in a few hours and then just see what I can sort out over the week-end. Thereagain might just fuck it off.

Calm down. Look for an alternative flight. Go to the match.

If you give up that easily and the game is memorable you'll regret it on our trip to Istanbul.

the whole scheme with TC is awful.

Surely they can sort out a process where when you book/pay you are guaranteed to be on the flight. Just accept bookings day by day with x number of loyalty points as they do with match tickets.
I wouldn't dare try and book with TC as no idea if you'll be on it until it's too late to get any decent alternative route.
Only useful for those with 4,700 ish or more

I'd say get a flight with Spike/Sport Options, but they're sold out. Next best would be Lowcostsport

I'm sorry you didnt get on the trip - but what do you expect Thomas Cook to do.

Have a half empty plane flying to Hamburg ??

They are a business and are not gonna lose money running half empty planes.

Thanks DOOMSTER for the words of wisdom. If you were on the Schalke trip well you`ll know they aren`t exactly the most organised of operators. And also I happen to have worked in the airline industry for near on 18 years so there`s no need to tell me how airlines work, even the shittier ones.

Well it`s match ticket now bought and on to the internet once I get home from work to see what I can sort.

If they've made a commitment to, then yes, that's exactly what I'd expect them to do. They may have saved money on this particular trip, but they've just lost a number of customers forever. Now that isn't good business.

What a shower of useless bastards

Sick of people moaning on here about not getting tickets.

Its quite simple :-

If you have a season ticket you get a ticket for the home uefa game. If you dont, you join the scrum and takes yer chance

If you have enough points you can go on the TC trip. Some with not enough points have been lucky through havings their names puled out of a hat

If you have less points but still enough to buy a ticket - you have to make your own arrangements

Doesnt seem anything wrong there to me. Seems quite straightforward.

except TC can't say in advance what enough points will be and so you're left hanging and find out with 4 days to go you're not on the trip.
That is useless.
As per prev post I wouldn't consider booking with em because of this uncertainty & I think the poster was a bit naive to do so. There are other day trips with proven firms you can get instead and avoid this issue.
But still I have every sympathy and it's an awful way to arrange the official club trips. It's not comparable to the moans about season tickets, loyalty points etc

I agree in part, but its a bit late in the day to start to find alternatives.

Had said email too....looking at alternatives.

lowcost have my phone num,ber in case of cancellations, but now looking at all alternatives.

Well if you can get up to Edinburgh Ryan Air fly to Billund in Denmark for 70 quid. Its only a 2 hour drive from there to Hamburg, not sure about the trains.
