Right, don't shoot the messenger - just passing on what I heard. So me and a mate are getting a taxi from Lime Street to Anfield yesterday and ended up sharing it with a Liverpool fan from Hong Kong and a neutral German who supports Bayern Munich.
The German bloke was telling us that Spartak Moscow are his second team and claimed that he has contacts within the club. According to him, City have been scouting one of Spartak's players for months and he feels a deal could be in the offing before the window shuts.
The player's name? Aiden McGeady. Personally I can't see it - we may well have had an interest at some point but as we're about to wrap up the Sinclair signing I'd guess he's no longer an option.
