Your Best away day?

Definitely Hamburg last season. Ended up with serious bruising after falling during celebrations for Ireland's goal. The whole experience was superb - the journey from Reeperbahn up to the stadium - train was bouncing to the refrains of "Istanbul, Istanbul, We are coming...", etc. Some great banter with the Germans too. All in all not many better places you could visit as an away fan.

Great trip to Bradford in 87/88. Paul Stewart hat-trick in a 4-2 win - our first in the league away from home in 34 matches.

And to echo an earlier poster - pretty much any away in Div Two, though the midweek trips, defeats, to Lincoln and Wycombe were painful to say the least. Colchester, Bristol Rovers and Burnley more than made up for those.

Lokeren was superb too - our first 'proper' Euro away for almost 30 years. Plenty of Blues making up for the missed drinking. Ended up after game in a small bar near Ghent station with about 30 Blues drinking the place dry. Terrific, but once the lager and strong Belgian stuff had gone we were stuck with that fruit beer - bobbins.

Bit of a random one, but i reckon the 1-1 draw at Villa in 2006 (i think) was amazing. Micah Richards in probably his second game sticking away a class header. Then his interview after the game!
The atmosphere was amazing aswell!

can't afford aways like i used to. wembley 99 and blackburn 00 were brilliant days out and lokeren was a mad couple of days, but my personal fave was QPR away in 94, a fabulous weekend on the pop with a 1-1 draw somewhere in the middle

All the UEFA Cup away trips were brilliant.

Portsmouth away this season was top, about a dozen of us camping down there over the bank holiday weekend, top sunshine, top weekend.

Arsenal away last year takes some beating. Really hot, nice day. As we're leaving the ground, we decided to stay over. Spent the afternoon drinking cans on Highbury Fields as the sun went down, when it got dark, we headed into London. Woke up with four lads sleeping on a double bed, and had to get from London City Airport to Hemel Hampstead.

I agree about arsenal last season, top day out, ok game and good atmosphere plus it was the 1st time i propely went to london. Easily one of the best away days in the league. Can't make this one coming up though :(.

Blackburn away when we got promoted. City fans took over that day. We were everywhere. Of course the result helped, how we did I don't know 'cos they hit the post about a million times.

Charlton, used to love that one - did it for 4 years on the bounce the fave being with Keegan start of the season hot day Anelka & Sib scoring 0-3 iirc lots of new season optimism & spent the night drinking round Blackheath & Greenwich Lovely...........then the daft fookers got relegated

That was a class day out. Remember the bus back, there was a fit policewoman on board. She and a male colleague went over to warn a couple of pissed up blues for singing and swearing too loud. The blokes both started trying to chat her up and get her number. She was loving it and having a laugh but the humourless bloke threatened to arrest them for sexual harassment!
