Your Fav. Breed Of Dog?

Just read a couple of posts on favourite dogs and how good the dogs were that have sadly passed away. Just a thought here, you obviously loved these dogs and gave them very good homes. Why not get another one? Ok they will at some point die but isnt it the best thing that you are giving them a good home and they giving you enjoyment in return. I know it must be hard when you lose a dog, my mam had one for years and it still saddens me to think about him. There are plenty of dogs treated badly and abandoned so we should all do our bit eh.

My favourite breed are Pugs. My dog is 12 years old now and he's the most loyal friend I have ever had. He's great with kids and of course, he's been brought up as a Blue. Whenever the rags come on tv, he'll only stop barking when I turn the channel over. It's crazy, I know, but true! lol

This was the choice we had to make about two years ago. Malamute or Akita. We went to visit some Malamute owners to see them close up. They are beautiful animals, but we got a pure white Japanese Akita in the end after visting a breeder and meeting the akita 'mother'.

Leo is one stubborn bugger at times, but a friendlier dog you wouldn't meet. Daft as a brush but scares the neighbours!

Why would you want a dog to scare your neighbours?

I'm dog owner but I wish people would stop buying this big/aggressive dogs just to make themselves look tough or cool, its pathetic.

Plus its the dogs get put down because people turn them aggressive. Then nothing happens to the owner, a little slan on the wrist and they can carry on keeping dogs

Bit of a side issue but does anyone have PET INSURANCE? We have got a mongrel puppy (cross german shep and akita) and are looking to get him insured. Is it worth it and any recommendations?

You misunderstand, we are far from the type of people you are thinking and neither is he that type of dog (reputation aside). He is a big dog and can look a bit of a beast, hence some people can be a little intimidated. Understand?

It was a bit difficult getting our akita insured at first, because they have bit of a 'reputation', but eventually insured him with marks n spencer and recently renewed with tesco.

It is definately worth insuring your pet asap, as you won't get the cover you'd like, if your pet has a know condition prior to taking out the insurance.
