I really hate Christmas songs. They're tacky, cheesy and everything that I hate about music, but I can't help but love "Do They Know It's Christmas?" It really is a great song. If they'd replaced the word "Christmas" with something else, it would still be a brilliant pop song. It's the only Christmas song I can sing and not feel sick while I do it. It's already been posted, so I won't post the video.
I feel a bit sorry for the artists around nowadays. Shows like X Factor, and campaigns to stop X Factor getting to Christmas Number 1 mean that bands no longer have a purpose to make a Christmas song. Lots of bands make Christmas songs one year, and they all fight to be number 1, but now you know it's only going to be two or three songs that have a chance, and that's only because of the campaigns and TV shows. There's no sense of reward now when you get a Christmas Number 1. You know it's either been given to you by a shit TV show or Facebook.
