This whole regional dialect thing is quite unusual to an Australian... we just don't have the variety you guys do.
As you go further into the bush, it's more nasal and more of a drawl, but there isn't real regional variation. It's more a class thing than a regional thing.
The exception is probably Western Australia and South Australia — WA tend to use two syllables in long vowel sounds and SA tend to say "darnce" rather than "dance" with a short 'a'.
