Gutted! was going to put that one myself. Summed him up brilliantly. Fantastic movement to pull away from the defender, a quick look to see where the keeper was followed by a mighty swing of the leg to unleash a thunderous volley and then a total mis-hit to loop it up and over the goalie and into the net.

That night was electric,Wigan fans still say to this day "the hand of goat" fucking great moment,as was his 100th v the scum,I nearly fell out of the kippax that day,another fantastic match

Ha, that was the one I was going to mention too when I saw the thread title. Actually ended 1-1 though (<a class="postlink" href="http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/History/Matches/Match.aspx?id=4383" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/History/ ... px?id=4383</a>), but I remember thinking at the time that it was an absolutely sublime finish. Admittedly I'd had a few that day. Watching it back on TV later it was quintessential Goater, as described by Blu KB above.

no question for me.... chuckles blunder at the swamp.

although we followed the goat for a while..... that goal was the best as it shut the rags up!

had spent the previous season/s listening to rag mates slagging us for being crap/them treble winners!

how the rags miss thrashing us in good ol` derby games and how they wish we were back in the top flight so they could thrash us some more.

i always had love and respect for our goater! legend!

Haha, that Gills number 16 who gets done by the goat and then watches as ali flicks it past his face is one of my best mates. i never let him forget that. Still says benarbia is the best player he has ever faced.
