Your favourite sitcom

Way, way ahead of Horses. Top of the pile, though; The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin. Absolutely brilliant.

I didn't get where I am today by not recognising a brilliant sitcom when I see one. Super. Great.
22 minutes late, leaves on line at Letchworth !

In no particular order; Hancock, Steptoe and Son, Dad's Army; the likely lads, Porridge ( possibly my no 1 ), Fawlty Towers, Rising Damp, Blackadder, Cheers,Alan Partridge, Early Doors

Mine are linked, in a way.

Yes there's all the usual classics, but as a kid, my first experience of being curious about psychology was 'Butterflies'; how an ignored housewife could flirt with an affair undercover and still keep a happy family. I'd wonder how she kept that together.

Then, of modern times, I really like 'Shrinking'. I think it's really underrated.

I believe the Simpsons is regarded as an animated sitcom. Some of the first few series are right up there with all those others mentioned here.

Brian: Hi hi! Aww, ain't he scrummy?
Colin: I'm on probation.
Jenny: Y'alright? I'm alright.
Apparently he has written a stage show and he's going to perform it with the original cast. I Liked 15 stories high with Sean Lock

Loved Reggie's brother in law Jimmy (good name, that!), ex military man, always on the cadge for food. "Bit of a cock up on the catering front"!
Jimmy was brilliant. Do you remember the spin off series in the mid 80s with Jimmy on Channel 4 Fairly Secret Army, which was quite funny ?

Friends. Everyone has their comfort shows, and sitcoms really hold a special place. I’ve rewatched some series countless times and they never lose their charm. Lately, I’ve been catching a few classics on britbox, which has been a fun way to revisit old favorites. It’s amazing how those shows still feel so relevant.
