Going back to late 70's/80's......Jasper Carrott
and the master himself our Bernard. Check out old shows like the comedians and wheeltappers to see Manning without the x rated stuff.
Oh and if you go back to when he first started in the pubs of North Manc,he was a quality singer before the comedy took over.
