I was told of bluemoon by an ex pat City supporter who was living in Middlesbrough
I perused the site for s few weeks, decided on a user name, registered went on holiday for two weeks and on my return started my own thread just asking for any news in the off season
I was jumped on immediately by old established members and accused of being a pervert and paedophile.

I don’t recall and as I think most posts outside of HOF threads from before 2014 haven’t survived various forum platform updates and purges for performance, and you can’t search beyond 2014, I can’t check.

I am sure it was something about hoping Hughes gets sacked soon (and my and many others’ hopes were made real shortly after).

I did think at the time perhaps this place isn't for me, but I stuck with it and boy, do I regret it sometimes
But, I have met and spoken to some incredible people through this site

Apparently, the thing that got me to join was the whole Kaka saga.

I hate reading my old posts. I was 18 when I joined this site and I was, being blunt, an idiot. Much like all 18 year olds.

I’m still an idiot but this place has at least helped me become much more self-aware.

Was it in one of the HOF threads?

I, like many old forum posters like us, have a bunch in those just by virtue of there being fewer of us back then, but I am not sure I can actively search for them. I think I’d have to “scroll” endlessly through the Postings page to get back that far, which isn’t practical for me.

But if you know a way of searching back that far (Advanced Search seems restricted to 2014 as the earliest date), I’d actually be interested in looking.

As @SkyBlueFlux alluded to, I was quite a different person 15 years ago, and it’s always funny to read those posts back.

Edit: Like life, I found a way. My first post was actually discussing the relative fitness and impacts off the bench of the likes of Dunnie, Elano, Micah, Petrov, Ade, and one RSC.

Very important analysis.

Back around spring 2009, I remember waking up one morning at my friend's house after a party - so this was towards the end of the 08/09 season. I was the only person awake in the entire house and I was bored so I grabbed my mate's laptop and went to Google. Searched for "Man City forum" and this was the first place that popped up. I made some stupid post about the signings we were gonna make that summer, I forget the specifics, but then dropped off the forum for another five months. I remember coming back on around the time of the 4-2 Arsenal Adebayor game and got stuck. I'd have to go back into about three different accounts to find my first post, though. Not sure the forum's archives even go back that far. I hope they don't because I think I regret literally everything I posted on this site between 2009 and about a month ago tbh. The more recent stuff is just less terrible.
