You dont really believe that he will get fired if he does not get a win against Stoke??? I hope not.
No, not really. But it would certainly go down on the list of reasons to sack him in the Summer if we don't meet the boards renewed expectations.

Hardly fair on the guy, is it? Welcome to Man City. Because of the way we f***ed things up with Hughes going out, most of the squad are still either in shock over him going or still retain some hope that he will be reinstated, so you'll have to win over the dressing room. Most of the players here were Hughes' signings, so they'll naturally be a little cautious of you and obviosuly feel that with January coming up you'll just sign some player you know from Italy rather than give them a chance.

Also, we have a game in 5 days, so that's probably not enough time to change anything significant or analyse the current squad - hope you did that before you arrived 'cos anything less than a win will go down on your permanent record.

I'm not saying it was the wrong decision to get rid of Hughes, or that Mancini is the right or wrong guy to take over. I'm just frustrated and worried that I've seen this before countless times at City (the impatience and rocking the boat unnecessarily) and I despair that the club actually seems to enjoy making us look like the schmucks of the footballing world.

A win against Stoke is just so very important, for so many reasons.

First of all can I register my disgust at a section of our so called support who have embarressed us by jumping on the media band wagon that the Owners or the devil re-incarnated. There is only one person to blame for Hughes' demise and that Hughes, he was given unlimited resources and told his targets and he was looking very unlikely to meet those targets. There is no easy way to sack somebody especially when it get's leaked to the media early, the situation just got out of control but City were 100% correct to have their new man ready. How many times in the past have we sacked a manager to have nobody come in for ages? Let me also make a statment which will be contarary to many beleifs, having a long term manager does not bring stability, success brings stability and a side product of that is a long term manager. If Fergie hadn't have won anything he would have been out of a job a long time ago.

Now onto the positive side of things, we have a superb squad but what we have been lacking is a bit of tatical nouse and a defensive line that works. Que RM, he organises defenses perfectly and tatically.... well he's Italian and won an aweful lot of trophies in the short time he has managed so I will put money on him knowing a lot more than Hughes in this area. Also another benifit of Manchini is that he is a worldwide known name, he will attract players that Hughes could not, he also has a bit of personality about him which Hguhes didn't and should be able to deflect some of the media attention away from his players because of. I for one am looking very forward to his first game in charge and I expect we will smash Stoke. Onwards and upwards, the king is dead, long live the king.

top 4 or the sack

Of course, I wouldn't expect anything less. Lets remember our owners arn't serial underacheivers like us City fans, they are serial winners.

:( sorry boss, now where was I.... oh yeah, FFS we are a shambles.. sacking a manager that only won twice in 11 games just isn't on, the guy needed more time.

1) Smacking those Rag bastards in the CC, and getting the same amount of pleasure out of it as Sparky would.

2) Not concede 9 goals in 3 games.

3) Top four or bust I'm afraid Mankini old mate, we've already set aside a parking space for Hiddink.

To win every game 5-0 and walk the Premier League. Apparently that's what I expected from Mark Hughes so it's only fair that Bob has to play to the same rules.
