The best sandwich I ever had was hot pastrami, cheese and sauerkraut on Siberian black bread, from David's Deli in San Francisco. And when the yanks do 'a sandwich' it's not just a puny effort in a plastic wrapper like we get over here. `It was huge, about a pound of meat on it, and you also got a large mug of chicken soup, fries and a side salad with it. All for about four quid
