I know how you feel. I also have this overwhelming desire to watch something less the more BBC/ITV/others pressure me into watching it. But I'll just say three things:-

1. By not watching Band of Brothers, you are missing out on the greatest TV series of all time. No pressure.
2. The Wire - it was OK, but not as great as everybody makes out.
3. I avoided Breaking Bad for years because I thought it can't possibly be as good as people are making out. I was wrong.

Ozark

These are more box sets I’ve binged than classic TV shows but seeing some lists yeah Simpsons, Blackadder, Alan Partridge ( the travel inn first season ) and a few others

I think it was a bit of a stepping stone as Rik/Ade developed as a double act. They were the Dangerous Brothers between Young Ones and Filthy Rich and ended up as Bottom. I got Filthy Rich on DVD about twenty years back and it was still funny at the time. Suspect only six episodes holds it back for repeats on Dave/Gold. Both of them tend to churn out the same repeats for weeks on end.

Definitely a couple missing from my list, but tried to pick ones where the entirety was worth watching. If you wanted one series/two series wonders then I'd think about True Detective season 1, Lost season 1&2, The Walking Dead season 1 etc.
