Your top 5 highs as a City fan

1. 1967, I was 5 and my best mates dad took me and him to watch Manchester City v Burnley, we won by a lot - but the atmosphere, the chants, smell of tobacco was wonderful
2. Travelling by push bike to City's training ground in Cheadle to watch the players, now and again we chased a ball outside the pitch, returned it and was told 'thanks son' - magical
3. My first year with a season ticket. King Colin's return against 'nucassle - atmosphere never stopped, also I believe someone scored a hattrick . TBF no one cared. The King was back. I was smittten.
4. York away, 20/30 of us were on a day out, most turned back at the pub at half time as it was soo cold, last one was found hanging over someone's hedge asleep, we poured him into the back of the bus, great days
5. Buzzer/Franny/Colin/Silva/Kun/Kompany and many many others- respect, enough said

It isn't about winning baubles but about emotions and experiences, with friends, family and the greater good.

If it wasn't we would be one of the red scum

5 - Huddersfield 10-1.
4 - 1999
3 - Utd FA cup 2011
2 - Aguerooooo!
1 - Winning the treble. The feeling I still have right now, been 4 weeks of feeling this high. Sometimes I cant even think about it because its too distracting at work or whatever. Its still just too amazing to think about being treble winners. And strangely it feels like it came out of the relative blue. Like a slow motion 93.20.

Well said. My sentiments exactly.

1) Seeing us with the European Cup live in the flesh with my 2 sons
2) Seeing us Do United live in the flesh in the first all Manchester Cup final
3) Seeing us win the FA Cup in 2011 - 1st trophy Id seen us win after 34 years as a Matchday fan
4) Aguerooooo and seeing us win the Premier League for the first time
5) Doing United 1-0 in the FA Cup semi-final. Ya Ya's goal signalled the shift in power ahead and sent a jolt to that lot over the road

Says everything when beating and humiliating the odd lot in the cup final didn’t even make my top 5
Never been more relaxed at Wembley, even when the rats were celebrating a dodgy penalty right in front of us and milking it.
They were acting like Wycombe when they scored against our reserves and EDS
It was only a matter of time. No comparison to 2011. No tension, we all knew we were going to win. And they knew as well

Ignoring the obvious Aguero & Gillingham games. I give you …

1. Fa Cup Semi 2011 - the tide turned
2. FA Cup Semi 1981 - Ipswich at Villa park - first really big away game with mates (age 14 this seemed huge) not parents.
3. Last Derby @ Maine Rd - 3-1 the Goat
4. Liverpool 1 - City 3 Anfield Boxing Day 1981. - we never beat em in them days
5. Trevor Francis debut at Stoke.

Too close to top 5 to miss out Wigan play off semi Maine Rd 99

Close

Physco retirement game v Pompey

Blackburn 4-1 ( on Tv) was away with dad.
Spurs 3-0 to 4-3 (on Tv though not there that night).
& of course York Away

Hard to pick between Wembly 99 & Agueroooooo, I have never felt so pissed off & then so happy in such a short space of time as the QPR game,
Also the Middlesbrough semi final in 76 was a bit good & the Charlton promotion game & the 5-1 rags game,
Some random ones were Blackpool away in the FA cup with a last minute equaliser & I cant remeber exactly when it was (mid 80s?) but I remember going mental on the Kippax When we beat leeds who had tried to time waste from the kick off?
Could you not make it a top 10?

Leeds ? Was that the Kevin Reeves very late goal when Leeds had played the whole game passing back to Lukic. I rank that game amongst the worst ever - though I admit there was a certain “joy” at the result having tolerated the dirge.

I think it probably was, I agree terrible game but I hated Leeds & they just came to kill the game from the kick off, I dont know why I just remember me & quite a lot of others just going mental when we scored the winner?

I think every city fan in the ground went mental for the same reason.

Stevie Howeys equaliser at the swamp
Wolves away on Easter Monday (up with the baggies)
Yayas brace at Newcastle
2011 cup final
4-1 against the swamp Rats at Eastlands (Trevor Sinclair's better than sex goal)
