The Railway Children almost sneaked into my top 5 purely on the basis of Brighter which is in my top three or four favourite songs of all time.Big shout for the Chameleons. Loved Doves and from further back, The Railway Children. Of current crop Slow Readers Club are very good. Anyone remember the short-lived Wu Lyf? (Saw them live at the Roxy, I think it was.) The Ting Tings? (Yes, I’d rather not, as well!)
The early Bee Gees had some cracking songs:Bee Gees
Herman’s Hermits
Stone Roses
Oasis
Charlatans
James
Northern Uproar
special mention to my lads band, The Sights
