Not been able to see the match back but my initial impression was Zab should've never let the cross in. I'll check it out again tonight.

Sagna has gone right up in my estimation this season, and he is probably a better defender than Zab. However, Zab is streets ahead as an all round footballer, and his overlapping runs are critical to the way we have to attack when teams pack the central areas.
Also think he could do a great job in front of the back four. And Pep, if he does take over, did the same with Lahm

i agree with you about Sagna being superb for us this season, but i always think Zabba offers more going forward. Swings and roundabouts, one slighty more solid defensively and one creates more on the overlap. If only we could combine the two and knock ten years of them....!!!!

Its not about trusting what the Mail says but on football matters alone they are one of the most reliable. Why isn't Zabba coming giving an interview saying I am determined to fight for my place Sagna better get ready for being benched again.
 
He hasn't lost his place he has had a recurrent knee injury,he and sagna will share i expect
Sounds like they will talk contracts at the end of the season

Actions speak louder than words when it comes to Zabbaleta, and he's proven time and time again how much he loves the club.
On the other hand he may genuinely think his time is coming to an end here. I don't know either way tbf. I'd be sad if that was his line of thinking, he's certainly got plenty more to give and I'd be gutted to see him in another shirt.
 
I'll be absolutely gutted when Zabaleta eventually leaves, as he's one of my all time favourite City players. Still think he has a few years left at the top level, but the average age of our full backs is something that will surely be addressed this summer.

Yep. I can totally see that.
 
Zab will be our Lahm under Pep. He'll convert him into a sitting midfielder. He's got the football brain, the tenacity and technical ability to play that position.
 
Whatever happens we need to give zabba the send off his incredible efforts have deserved if and when he does go.
 
Give a new contract and a job for life, he is a Manc by default now and his kids certainly are. In fact at times I think if pep coming would mean Zaba going I would rather have not have him ;-)

Surely there is a role for him as long as he wants one, the guy is up there with the best blue legends we have had
