I find this signing bizarre.

18 million on a left back when they already have Ashley Cole, and their manager hasnt even started yet.

Probably Abramovich helping out some Russian buddies again, just like Schevchenko.

More a left winger than left back - which puts a question mark over the future of Joe Cole, maybe.

....and Malouda who had a great end to the season.....

Has Kalou left already? I vaguely remember something about him going, not sure if he has. If he hasn't, he'll surely be the first of the three out the door.
