Zonal market has been far more effective, end of.

Rubbish,i'm not going into this again but did you see what rafa did to fuck the zonal marking up,they had nothing upfront but it was interesting to see a manager who uses zonal so quick to figure out a way to combat it.
The opposing player has ALWAYS got the upper hand because he has a run & can leap higher that a static player.
Anybody who thinks a team can in one go swap from man marking to zonal marking is a clown,he's slowly started to smell the coffee with a few things this will be the next.

Zonal marking for corners is vastly superior to a ridiculous extent. I don't think we've conceded a goal from a normal set-piece (stoke's freak show might not require zonal).

We conceded around 1 in 2 games from set pieces under Hughes, open your eyes you fools.

we have defended corners better with zonal under mancini than man to man with hughes therefore zonal works better for us, if liverpool do it badly is irrelevant, anyone who thinks we defended corners better before is the clown

No we haven't defended corners better & liverpool have been at it a lot longer than us & can't crack it, BUT rafa found an easy way to fuck it up but didn't have any decent strikers to complete the deal.
Good question that for the clueless amongst the big footed ones,how did rafa cause our defence to shit itself everytime they got a corner ???????????

Absoloute tosh. Have you ever played under a zonal marking system? It's far easier to stand in your zonal area and keep BOTH eyes on the ball than get dragged about all over the box with one eye on your man and one eye on the ball.

It's the same backward and outdated view of the British footballing public that the press and media used to beat Benitez about with. Zonal Marking doesn't stop you from conceding goals full stop - if the ball is a beauty and you get beaten by your man it happens - but it does stop you from conceding goals more than if you were using a man marking system.

If we had conceded the same amount of goals using both man marking and zonal then your view would be an opinion that could be argued, but seeing as the difference between both is so vast that it becomes a fat that Zonal is better than MM then you can't argue about it.
