Post election polls have Labour 6% above Tories. they have now overtaken the Tories despite being more than 20 points behind when Theresa May first called for a general election.

And you know full well that they started well behind the UK in terms of infrastructure and other attractions, such as availability of skilled resources.

However,

I presume you are failing to mention that the Republic of Ireland has had a lower rate of corporation tax rates than the UK for about 50 years now, and that the Celtic Tiger economy was at a time when they were receiving exceedingly large sums of EU money for large scale infrastructure plans, like the DART, M1 north toll road, Dublin ring road (also tolled), motorway West towards Galway, the LUAS etc etc for a specific reason?

Yes its not that hard is it, what's stopping it, Party donations?
Party donations, board memberships offered to politicians, ex politicians on the board etc, etc.
Basically legal corruption. Tory and Labour. Probably Lib Dem too as I note that a few got company directorships out of being in the coalition.

Occupational pension schemes have virtually been wiped out as the companies have seen them as too expensive. They now pay minimum into private schemes. Then when you get to the end annuity's are so low, that you don't get back what you put in before you are dead.

Yep Started in the late 80's with the Tory Gov not stopping companies having "Pension Fund Payment Holidays". 1993 showed that to be a folly.
Then Gordon brown stole 10% of everybody's retirement pension as tax which kicked final salary funds over the edge. This really was a wicked tax.
McDonnel would have stolen a further 2-5% off everybody's pension fund with with financial transaction tax as well - so much for not taxing the individual!

What you don't get is that a majority of voters don't want that brand of politics. The man in the street doesn't care much for ideologues, academics and bitters, specially when they focus their energies on in-fighting. Only when you resolve those differences will you get power.
Completely agree. Who caused the infighting within labour? Wasn't the membership or Corbyn.
Not sure about the man in the street and it could be argued that there is no majority in the uk anyway which opens the door to change.
