On that theme, it is actually sad that Henry Blofeld is retiring.

Blowers is loved by cricket fans where as football fans know Motson should have been binned many years ago. The BBC will make a fuss but the fans really won't miss him.

I'm sure he did rags v Burnley for MOTD last season. In stoppage time the ball dropped to the wig-wearing potato on the edge of the box and Motson screamed "Rooooooneeeeee!!!" in his customary moronic manner. My personal favourite was Rooney coming on as a sub (or something) in one of their 1-1 draws last season, picking the ball up from about 40 yards and he foghorns out "RooNEYYYYY, is it written in the stars!?" before he played the ball out to the fucking wing.
