Sergio Aguero - 2017/18 performances

Kun will have sat out many games against lesser opposition when rested so will have played all his games against teams that the manager considered more difficult to beat. It naturally follows that you could then have stats that show we win less with him in the team. Facts are however, we would have won even less of the games he has played in if we had not had him.

Anyone who doubts this just needs to think of his hat trick in the Bayern game or his QPR goal.

Sergio Aguero. The best striker, if not the best player, in Manchester City's long history- at least according to most of our fans. But as this article correctly points out (like many others in the past), a statistical argument can be made that the team perform better without Kun in the starting lineup.

What do we all think? Are these numbers just coincidence? To do with the quality of opposition? Or is there something to it- and if so, why? And what does Pep do about it?
It's a valid question and I for one am glad you had the balls to ask it; I know that you're not actually attacking Aguero like some posters suggest.

However the stats are flawed in that article, the Chelsea game was the first time we've played the Jesus-Sane-Sterling trio against tough opposition. Plus whilst Aguero might not be the absolutely most perfect fit for the way we play I think his sheer quality is enough to make up for it.

Fuck sake,leave the guy alone,he can't win

Oh, and the words Aguero and conundrum should never be in the same sentence - it's fucking stupid.

The stats can be interpreted in different ways to make a point. Didn’t that baby faced little fuvker who played at the swamp, chicito or some such ridiculous name, have one of the best win ratios and goals per minute in the PL? That’s because he played as a sub or against cannon fodder. Don’t think his stats are looking quite as clever at his new club. As in all facets of life, stats are useful, but only when applied with common sense and context.
