Napoli (A) Post Match Thread

Cant understand a word they say but It shows how quick we broke for the third from a fans angle.

Knowing our luck, Real will finish second and we'll draw 'em in the next round - courtesy of a Uefa screw over. At that point, Real will return to form. However, knock 'em out and I see us as potential winners of the thing.

It's an interesting one because we still don't score that many direct from corner kicks. What we often do however is take a short one, work a yard of space and then score from the cross - there are more examples of goals like Ota's than Stones from last nights goals. I suspect this is just a way of deflecting the opposition from whatever their set routine is for defending corners.

I'm also impressed by the fact that we are as likely to score when we are defending a corner as when we are taking one. We have scored some cracking goals breaking quickly after clearing a corner

It literally is a game of chess with Pep. That is why he never sees any need to put the ball in the box from any and every free kick in the opposition half. It allows the opposition to organise. The quick short corner or free kick shuffles the defence and leaves space to exploit which is just what ota and stones are doing. It is yet another string to our bow.

Teams will work out that sort of strategy and be more reactive but we have so many other strengths that at this moment in time big injuries aside I cannot see us suffering a major dip in form.

What will be classed as a blip ? WBA away ?

Not sure why @FCBarca's getting so much stick. I'm sure I've seen him/her being critical of the rags over on rag caf.

Unless they are obvious dicks, shouldn't we welcome posters from overseas who follow other clubs?

It is a great view of it - Sane on the edge of the box - Aguero is also defending deep, just ahead of Sane and slightly to the left - as Sane heads into a central position Aguero is going left whilst De Bruyne and Sterling are heading right - there are just so many options for Fernadinho's pass and once he picks Sane Napoli are in trouble and know it - but the view also shows that Aguero still has much to do, a bad touch would take him into a defender, a touch too many and the recovering defender gets a chance to put in a tackle - but he's timed it all to perfection ...
