Are they ever happy?thank fook i stayed up to early hours thursday morning and booked flight to antalya, 4 nights hotel and return flight to istanbul, £400 all in, mrs not happy though as she wanted to go too, but would have left her in antalya, bloody evertonian

Before you read this update in full we are hopeful for some more positive
news this week. We want to assure you we want to operate a flight to
Istanbul. We have operated flights on and off for Manchester City fans for
20 years. However this is the situation as we currently see it.
As everyone is aware we would normally offer flights for City games in
Europe.
Following numerous massive European Finals in recent years, involving teams
such as Glasgow Rangers, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, the
airlines have been spoilt with huge numbers of travelling fans paying almost
any price to get to the destination. In all cases many thousands travelling
without tickets. In the case of previous finals and even in the case of West
Ham in Prague, DIRECT flights were ALL completely SOLD OUT hence we had and
other operators have had the demand for charter flights.
Firstly, as far as we can see, very unusually direct flights are currently
easily available from both Manchester and also from London (a lot cheaper
from London). We have never known a final where so many flights are actually
available to fans in the days after the semi.
In terms of chartering whole aircraft, as we have said the airlines have
been spoilt and are seemingly waiting on another bonanza! The prices quoted
to us are more expensive than prices you see online with one airline that
has added on extra flights. In light of this, our policy has not been to say
"yes" to these high priced charters as we would not think any of you would
be too happy if we did. You can see that others are offering subsidised
flights at circa £1k, so presumably paid in excess of that and this
unfortunately sets a bad precedent in the market. Especially when we are
trying to keep costs as low as possible on your behalf.
For the time being we are not getting involved in this auction. We cannot
offer flights cheaper than some you already see online and we also cannot
subsidise flights. So right now we will have to wait and see how things
unravel. As stated, there are lots of options available online to get to
Istanbul and is the first time that we have encountered seeing so much
availability for a final.
If things change and we can offer something that we think will sell at a
reasonable value, in line with what else you can buy, we will of course try
to offer this to you.
Again we want to assure you we want to operate flights to Istanbul, but we
only want to do this if we feel it is reasonable value compared to the rest
of the market. Hopefully we will be able to offer this to you this week.

just drifting off topic for a sec, aanyone know what the home shirt details would be,would we clash with the Inter home shirt and who would have the choice if so
I am flying into Sofia on 8th and getting an overnight bus transfer to Istanbul, what is the visa needed? I haven’t seen anything about that until your post.We are doing Luton to Boyrgas(Bulgaria) Friday afternoon.
Bus overnight to Istanbul arr. 6-15am Sat.
Back on bus 8am Sunday to Boyrgas ,one night accommodation and Flight to Luton Monday all for £224 flights,bbis and accommodation.There are still seats on flight and bus available.Need to get a visa to Cross into turkey (available on line)

Doing the same thing and as far as I know you don't need a Visa with a UK passport.I am flying into Sofia on 8th and getting an overnight bus transfer to Istanbul, what is the visa needed? I haven’t seen anything about that until your post.
