I can believe that Rafa wants Sterling, but I'm not sure Real Madrid would go for it. For us, he's worth the money because he's English. To them, he's just another talented youngster. I don't know if they'd be willing to pay the English tax, especially with the exchange rate the way it is atm. If he was going to cost £40m, that'd be €55m to them. Bearing in mind Isco cost them about €27m, would they really be willing to double that fee to get a foreign youngster of similar potential? To put it into perspective, if they'd bought Bale this year instead of 2 years ago, he would have cost them an extra €20m, whereas if Spurs wanted him back tomorrow, they'd only have to pay £71m to give Real their money back. It's not a good time for European clubs to be buying from the Premier League. I hope this turns out to be the case, anyway.
