BMW and Merc will sell their cars here, France will sell its wine and cheese here and we will export to them without an open borders agreement, it really is that simple.

We have had weeks of scare stories and they didn't work, the UK has spoken and its spoken to leave the EU and its laws and open borders behind.

Get used to it.

You're right, that's what will happen. In the future, we will continue to trade with the EU without a trade deal. BMW's and Mercs will become +10% more expensive here in the UK and their sales will be badly affected as a result. But Germany will survive that - their economy is much stronger than ours, and they would far rather a dent to their exports than to see the break-up of the EU.

To EVERYONE on here who naively suggested that the EU would agree to a tariff-free trade deal: No they won't. Watch this space.

Markets will be screwed for a while until it's figured out what this all means.

I'd say for 2 years not much will change.

So now we get "told" who is going to lead the country....where is the democracy in that? funny old world...
This may be for a separate thread but we had this fiasco a decade ago when Brown stepped in, unelected, to be PM. We don't want an unelected PM.

You are using the assumption that the fall is permanent. So, to be fair, it is scaremongering just a little.
It doesnt need to be permanent to screw peoples lives up. A lot of more learned folk than I have estimated the downturn could last two years. It might only take two months for the pinch to have a catastrophic effect on peoples lives.

What's even better is that Mandelson, Kinnock and Paton will lose their obscene European pensions. That will open up a new hospital somewhere.

haha...there will be no mutual destruction of business policy, trust me, none at all.

How long until Scotland can hold another referendum to leave the UK? We'll just be England Wales and Northern Ireland on our own soon which will see us even further less well off.

Or will just go towards making up a tiny fraction of the duties that will go up on our ability to trade

FTSE just gained back 4% as those playing the big casino game realise its better to make money than lose it so stop fucking about lol
