Txiki Begiristain

These guys were brought in to replicate what Barca were doing. No doubt they got a pay rise to match, however Barca some five years later are still doing the business, maybe we should have recruited the people at barca now instead.

No they aren't, they may win the league but they are in decline, reliant on the front three and with no quality to replace Xavi, Iniesta or any of the defence. Nothing really outwith their first 11.

This may well be true - but I have heard a rumour that the kids in the CFA practice by kicking rocks around - so that in a post-apocalyptic world, in which we are unable to make footballs, City will still win. Pretty visionary stuff, right?
Rocks eh? Lucky little bastards, bet you they're round as well and actually roll along the gravel. All we ever had was a fucking brick.

So we are modelling ourselves on a model of a team now in decline because 3 or 4 'once in a lifetime players' are past or passing their prime .Has this been thought out.!

No, they are in decline because, of the top of my head, Alves, Puyol, Maschereno, Pique, Busquets, Xavil, Iniesta, Vila, Pedro have not been replaced from either within their academy or outside by anybody anywhere near good enough. We arent modelling ourselves on Barcelona but we are employing the people that built up that team in the first place.

Bearing in mind MP was brought in due to the similarity in style to Pep. And Txiki has had several years so that Pep could hit the ground running. And the main defence of the manager's efforts this season is that the squad is unfit for purpose. What conclusions can we draw?

Hopefully he's working the same magic on Mbappe and Mendy that recruited Sane and Jesus.

Not to mention KDB and Sterling. And Stones for that matter. Txiki generally gets his man or certainly has since the shackles of FFP sanctions came off. Funny how little credit he gets when the five players mentioned were wanted by amongst other Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, United, and PSG. And not one of them seems remotely overpriced. In the case of Jesus and Sane they will probably end up looking like absolute bargains.

You still despise him for sacking Bobby?
