The Tevez celebration

One of the great moments from the early takeover days and not often mentioned, probably due to all the even bigger moments that have happened since - Tevez and his classic celebration against the rags in the 2010 league cup semi 1st leg. Even though we went on to lose the 2nd leg, this felt like a big moment and the first punch we landed on their jaw before we ultimately put them down on their arse in the years that followed.

Think this was the game when the Rags started to realize we were going to be a problem.
Even though they won the 2nd leg, the wheels were already in motion.
The FA cup semi final the following year when yaya scored, THAT was the moment the power truly shifted.View attachment 104742

This FA Cup semi final at Wembley was the first time since the late 70s/early 80s that we truly played ManUre as equals, & was the first time we saw the genesis of the Manchester City we see today.

Yes we'd beaten them in the intervening period, but those scant victories always felt more like a one-off shock win, than the emerging winds of change.

1. Playoff Final win vs Gillingham
2. FA Cup Semi Final win vs ManUre
3. Aguerooooooo
4. Champions League win vs Inter
5. Completing the Treble
6. FA Cup Final win vs Stoke

We've come a long way in a relatively short space of time. Thank you for allowing us to live the dream Sheikh Mansour. )(

We don’t appreciate this moment enough because of the success that followed. What a night it was!
