I see Juncker is making us all realise just how sad it will be to leave this jolly club that have only ever had our interests at the heart of their policies:

Asked by Bild am Sonntag newspaper if he was concerned other member states will follow Britain's example in quitting, Mr Juncker said: 'No. Britain's example will make everyone realise that it's not worth leaving.'

He added: 'On the contrary, the remaining member states will fall in love with each other again and renew their vows with the European Union.'

Wow - makes you really sad to be going..........

Its now or never if May wants to call an early election. Once negotiations start seriously in June she can't break off to hold an election.

The bottom line is Germany is in many respects in debt to the United States for years of protection from Nato. After all take the USA out the equation and Nato would not between them have the military power to stop Russia going through Europe should they chose to.

The Eu nations have been guilty of shrinking their armed forces and taking it for granted that America will look after them.

If Trump took America out of Nato and it was left to Junckers EU army to step up I cannot even begin to imagine how much Putin would laugh his bollocks off.

A thinly veiled threat - the UK will not have an easy time of it going forward

The EU troops would be restricted to a 45-hour week and be banned from carrying weapons on elf 'n' safety grounds.
