If he is currently fit I think it's a good idea, but not if we are going to have to get him up to fitness like we did with Gundogan. Also I don't know the situation with squad places I assume he just takes Gundogan's?

If it doesn't work out we can always send him back to Bayern without a much of a dent in terms of a transfer fee. Fonte will cost us a lot more and will want at least a two year deal.

100% agreed. If he stays fit could be a very accomplished signing, if he's constantly crocked send him back no harm done. Fonte has been mentioned but he'd be another £20 million plus signing and 33.
